About SLI

This is our 30th Anniversary year.
Watch for special celebrations throughout the coming school year.

The Scandinavian Language Institute offers language instruction classes to the general public in various levels of Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Icelandic.

Class levels include Beginning, Know-A-Little, Intermediate and Advanced.  These are scheduled each quarter throughout the school year.  Children's classes (for ages 5-12 yrs.) are also regularly offered.  There are both daytime & evening classes.

More than just an educational facility, we offer many special services to both students and the general public.

The Scandinavian Language Institute, a Washington State non-profit corporation and tax-exempt organization, is located in the Seattle Community of Ballard at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St.. Other classes meet in Seattle (Ballard),  Bothell, Edmonds, Everett and on Whidbey Island.
