| Notes | ||
| Animal and plant spheres are usable only on (or to summon) flora and fauna that are native to swamps, or to summon or otherwise affect amphibians of any sort (charm person or mammal is replaced with charm amphibians) Wastri's priests are at best uncommon, and are found only in rural areas near (or in) swamps Wastri hates gnomes, dwarves, and halflings more than elves They are most common in the Vast Swamp region, but are also in the Hool Marshes Ceremonies to Wastri involve sacrifices (demi-human if possible), strange musical instruments, and croaking chants Places of worship are usually dim, dark, and chilly Wastri has a hidden temple in the Vast Swamp (the Sacred Polystery), from which he rules his followers The high priest of Wastri is known as the Immaculate Image, his three other highest priests are the Greater Servants of Wastri As a demigod, Wastri's priests are based on 100 points, rather than the standard 120. They cannot use 7th level spells. |

| Background | ||
| Wastri, a bitter, hate-filled god, was once human in appearance. His cult of hatred was banished to the swamps long ago (possibly on another prime material plane). In these swamps, he raised powerful forces of toad-men (bullywugs) and outcasts of humanity, and once again waged war against demi-humans of all forms. As his power grew, his form twisted and changed, living him the toad-like mockery he is now. Wastri still believes himself to be the handsome human he once was. Wastri was originally a mortal, but gained immortality through the strength of his hatred and the dark rituals of his followers. His powers are still quite limited at this time, and he can be slain by mortal hand.
Wastri's cultists seek to eliminate the demi-human plague from the face of Oerth, at whatever cost. They will never willingly enlist demi-human aid, although they occasionally work with humanoids (usually orcs or hobgoblins). His cult frequently enlists the service of bullywugs and lizard men. Most of Wastri's servants are normal humans, fighters, or thieves -- his priesthood is small, and largely concerned with gathering more followers. |
