| Notes | ||
|
It's uncertain whether Rudd grants good luck to her priesthood, or if only the
fortunate are attracted to her service, but in either case her priests are well-known
for good fortune. Rudd's chapels are most common in sparsely settled regions. Rudd's priests priestesses frequently preside over weddings. The weapon of choice chosen at first level is also the weapon the priest or priestess gains expertise and specialization in -- Rudd encourages skill in all things, and weapons are no exception. As a demigoddess, Rudd's priests are based on 100 points, rather than the standard 120 |

| Background | ||
|
Rudd is a popular goddess in the Oeridian rural areas, and her worship has spread to the Flan-populated areas as well. She is frequently invoked by craftsman, thieves, gamblers, and adventurers -- professions that depend on a mixture of luck and skill ("Luck favors the skilled"). Her church consists of small chapels, run primarily by women, with rarely more than two or three priests and a handful of acolytes in an area. The duties of Rudd's priesthood are primarily guidance, blessing, and aid: they offer advice, give Rudd's blessing to her flock, and treat sickness and disease in the community. Despite their skill with arms, her priests and priestesses are encouraged to resort to force only when other means have been exhausted, and to remain aloof from the conflicts of other churches. Rudd is generally described as a middle-aged (but still youthful seeming) woman, of merry disposition and imposing (though pleasing) stature. She rarely carries armaments, and is usually accompanied by Penumbra, her grey fox. Representations of Rudd are usually rendered in wood carvings, frescoes, or stained glass, rather than statues. |
