| Neutral Good clerics of Lydia may use a special form of the commune spell: they may ask three questions, and if they are clearly and fairly worded, receive a verbal answer that takes no more than two minutes to deliver (this is exempt from the normal yes/no limit). Use of communing with Lydia (not her servants) more often than once per week or for selfish purposes may result in a loss of clerical abilities | 10 | |

| Background | ||
| Lydia, Suel god of Knowledge and Music, is the guardian of the learning of the Suel people. She taught the first musicians of the Suel, and schooled them in the arts of bardic magic and lore. Her priests are taught that learning must be stored in the heart and in song, not just written in books, for knowledge without wisdom is of no value. She possesses a lesser attribute as the power of Daylight, symbolizing the triumph of enlightenment over ignorance and superstition. Though Lydia has few priests and fewer temples, she is well-loved by the Suel people. Nearly all Suel musicians (of good or neutral alignment) revere her, and pray to her for inspiration in their singing. She is well-regarded in the barbarian north, where she is known as the First Skald, the one who taught the songs of legend to their people. Her large temples are bastions of learning and art, and are often sought out by those in search of ancient lore. |
