| Some say Labelas Enoreth walked the planes even before Corellon, and that he is the eldest of all elvenkind. She is said to have adopted the elves as her own after their creation, and gifted them with longevity beyond all other races, and the ability to withstand all but the worst ravages of time. Even the outcast dark elves retain a fair measure of this gift, although half-elves retain but a fraction. Aspiring priests of Labelas are expected to have lived long, full lives before entering the priesthood, and many still retain talents from their former careers. Rare indeed is an elf who enters the priesthood before his sixth century, and many have lived a dozen centuries or more. Once they have entered the church of Labelas, they are schooled in the history and ancient lore of the elven people, that the past may never be forgotten. Priests of Labelas have no great love for the half-elven, for they see their parents as having turned their backs on Labelas' greatest gift. |
