| Hruggek prefers blood sacrifice of monsters or intelligent creatures Dark spirits are similar in power to nature spirits Some of Hruggek's priests are witchdoctors, with both shamanistic and wizardly powers |
||
| Background | ||
| Hruggek, the bloodthirsty god of the bugbears, shares the blend of insanity and brute force that bugbears are known for throughout Oerth. His priests wield rune-carved morningstars, without which they use most of their priestly powers (however, in a pinch any morning star will serve). Bugbear shamans are quite capable of cooperating with other humanoid tribes and priesthoods, something that sets them apart in the humanoid pantheon. Hruggek's shamans are expected to aid (or lead) their tribes in the goblinoid war of aggression -- any deed that gains power for the bugbears, no matter how treacherous or evil, will be rewarded. His priesthood will expend lesser humanoid lives without thought, and bugbear lives when necessary. Hruggek is served by a variety of other evil spirits. Some of these lesser bugbear gods have found worship among the tribes. The relationship between servant and master (Hruggek) is always kept clear. |
