Wedding Cakes With A Beach Theme

Are you considering a wedding with a beach theme, and you think that a cake with this same theme would be perfect? Of course it would!

 What Size Cake Do You Want?

This depends on how much detail you want on it as well as how many guests you are planning to have. Price can get up to as much as $15 per 2 ounce slice (approximately 4' by 2'). The bigger the cake, the longer it will take to make and the more work is done on it. Keeping it simple is always a good guideline, especially for tight budgets.

Shape Matters

With the right cake designer, anything can happen. Any size, shape or color. This is a chance to be creative with your ideas. Talk with your designer, work things out.

Round, square, sculpted, small, large, more than one cake, even. You are limited only by your imagination.

Sunshine and Icing Do Not Mix

This should be obvious, but it may be easy to take too much for granted. It's a nice beach setting, the sun is shining, perfect weather, and the icing on the cake is beginning to slowly melt from the heat of the sun. Something to consider! Maybe a ceremony at dusk would be better, or in the morning, when the sunshine is least harmful to the beautiful cake you've worked so hard on. Especially with cakes that are highly decorated, or even fragile, this is a major consideration.

Bake your own cake

If you feel industrious, perhaps you even have a tight budget, consider doing the baking of the wedding cake yourself. The instructions come with each box of mix, and your imagination and some help from friends or family members can add a lot to an enjoyable project that can add memories to the occassion. If you can't do this, perhaps you know a friend or someone who makes cakes as a hobby who can do it for you.
